Donald Trump issues warning to complaining air | Political News
Donald Trump issued a warning to air visitors controllers who complained about not being paid amid the historic authorities shutdown, which can be drawing to a close after more than 40 days.
Many airports nationwide have been struggling with staffing issues as air visitors controllers missed out on two paychecks during the shutdown. Some controllers have taken second jobs to cowl payments, while others have called in sick from work in protest.
“All Air Traffic Controllers must get back to work, NOW!!! Anyone who doesn’t will be substantially ‘docked,'” the president wrote in a Truth Social post.
Trump said he would advocate a bonus of $10,000“for distinguished service to our Country” for air visitors controllers who did not take time off during the “Democratic Shutdown Hoax.”
“For those that did nothing but complain, and took time off, even though everybody knew they’d be paid, IN FULL, shortly into the future, I’m NOT HAPPY WITH YOU,” the president continued. “You didn’t step up to help the U.S.A. against the FAKE DEMOCRAT ATTACK that was only meant to hurt our Country.”
Trump said that any air visitors controllers who need to depart their jobs in the close to future ought to do so without any hesitation, “with NO payment or severance of any kind!”
“You will be quickly replaced by true Patriots, who will do a better job on the Brand New State of the Art Equipment, the best in the World, that we are in the process of ordering.”
He also took a second to blame the Biden administration for losing billions of {dollars} “trying to fix antiquated ‘junk.'”
It comes as a group of centrist Democrats broke celebration ranks to back up a plan to end the stalemate. The invoice also ensures that all federal employees will obtain full back pay for the length of the shutdown and that authorities workers laid off during the shutdown will likely be recalled.
Lawmakers have been positioned under strain to end the shutdown as flight delays continue to plague the U.S. The Federal Aviation Administration announced last week that flight reductions would happen at 40 of the nation’s busiest airports.
The settlement also permits the Senate to vote on extending the Affordable Care Act subsidies that have been a key element of the Democrats’ resolution not to vote for a GOP invoice to prolong authorities funding.
At a press convention on Monday, National Air Traffic Controllers Association President Nick Daniels told the media that six weeks without pay was taking a toll on employees and may pose risks to vacationers.
“Now [air traffic controllers] must focus on child care instead of traffic flows, food for their families instead of runway separation. This is not politics. This is not ideology. This is the erosion of the safety margin the flying public never sees but America relies on every single day,” he said.
“When the most disciplined safety workforce in America is forced to think about survival instead of public safety. This is the cost.”
