Piers Morgan has taken another swipe at the Duchess of Sussex following her father, Thomas Markle‘s, major surgical procedure to have his leg amputated. Thomas, 81, underwent the three-hour operation on Wednesday after a blood clot cut off circulation in his left leg, and the limb went black. A spokesperson for the Duchess confirmed on Friday that Meghan Markle “has reached out to her father” following the process. According to The Times, Meghan, who has been estranged from her father for a number of years since her wedding ceremony to Prince Harry, discovered about his surgical procedure when studying about it in the news. The publication claimed the 44-year-old requested her aides to confirm the claims.

Meanwhile, The Telegraph has reported Meghan is decided to have a handwritten notice delivered and has been personally calling a number of hospitals in the Philippines in a determined attempt to find Thomas.

However, Piers attacked Meghan on social media, where he wrote: “Who did Princess Pinocchio ‘reach out to’? Let’s have a name.”

His harsh comment sparked a wave of response on X, with one individual writing: “Spot on, Piers. If Meghan’s “reached out” to anyone, it’s probably her PR team for damage control. Thomas deserves better than radio silence from his own daughter. Heartbreaking.”

Another added: “This man is on his deathbed. Leave him alone and stop using him for clicks!”

A 3rd said: “Please, Piers Morgan, have an interview with Thomas Markle Sr when he’s healthy enough to do so!”

A surgeon told the Daily Mail: “We had to remove the foot. There was a massive blood clot in his thigh and that had stopped circulation to his foot and lower leg.

“It was life-or-death surgical procedure. Had the infection in the foot moved to his coronary heart, it could most seemingly have been deadly. He is doing effectively but he isn’t out of the woods yet.”
