Former champion returns in rematch at UFC Seattle | MMA News

Former ladies’s flyweight champion Alexa Grasso returns to the octagon on March 28 in a rematch against No. 5 ranked Maycee Barber. The news was first reported by Krazy Kev MMA on Wednesday night.

Grasso (16-5-1) was scheduled to face former two-time ladies’s strawweight champion Rose Namajunas on Jan. 24 at UFC 324 but was compelled out of the combat due to injury. She’ll enter the rematch coming off back-to-back losses for the first time in her 13-year combined martial arts profession.

Barber (15-2) spent most of 2025 figuring out what went improper moments before she was anticipated to make her stroll to the octagon against Erin Blanchfield at UFC Vegas 107 on May 31. Barber suffered what appeared to be a seizure getting ready to make her approach to the cage and the bout was cancelled.

After diagnosis and treatment, Barber returned in December at UFC 323, defeating Karine Silva via unanimous choice. In latest interviews, “The Future” called out Grasso for a rematch. She ended up getting what she wished.

The two first fought in February 2021 at UFC 258: Usman vs. Burns. Grasso defeated Barber via unanimous choice that night time in Las Vegas. It was the last time Barber misplaced a combat.
