Fox News shared a new post from President Donald Trump, 79, who said he wished to work with Governor Tim Walz on the civil unrest in Minnesota; however, fans felt the commander-in-chief was backing away from his aggressive stance.

Over the weekend, Alex Pretti, a 37-year-old nurse, was shot and killed by a US Border Patrol officer in Minneapolis. In early January, the late Renée Nicole Good was also fatally shot following a confrontation with an ICE agent, which also occurred in the same metropolis in Minnesota. The Trump administration has claimed both occasions that the shootings have been executed in self-defense as heated protests unraveled.

On Monday, the Fox News community shared the president’s post from his Truth Social platform. Trump wrote, “Governor Tim Walz called me with the request to work together with respect to Minnesota. It was a very good call, and we, actually, seemed to be on a similar wavelength,” he admitted to his followers. I told Governor Walz that I might have Tom Homan call him, and that what we’re trying for are any and all Criminals that they’ve in their possession,” Trump continued. It got here as Trump was slammed for a “tone deaf” statement as he waded into an unfamiliar debate.

Trump continued in his post about Walz, “The Governor, very respectfully, understood that, and I can be talking to him in the close to future. He was completely happy that Tom Homan was going to Minnesota, and so am I!”

“We have had such large SUCCESS in Washington, D.C., Memphis, Tennessee, and New Orleans, Louisiana, and just about every other place that we’ve ‘touched’ and, even in Minnesota, Crime is method down, but both Governor Walz and I need to make it better!” he closed.

Although the president claimed he was working with Walz, fans took to their socials, feeling Trump was backing away. One upset fan argued, “There are legal guidelines in place to abide by! Why does Trump have to negotiate with Walz?”

Another upset fan vented, “MR. PRESIDENT, with all due respect, you’ll be able to’t deal with Walz! Please rethink the Insurrection Act, as you said!” A third said, “In other phrases, after all the robust man discuss, Trump caved.”

Despite the online backlash, supporters still wanted Trump and Walz to work together in Minneapolis.

One supporter wrote, “Let’s hope cooperation brings peace and stability on the ground. Actions matter more than statements.”

Trump claimed to be working with Walz after criticizing the governor of Minnesota. On Sunday, Trump criticized Pretti’s death by attacking Walz and the Minneapolis mayor, Jacob Frey.

The president posted photos of the alleged firearm that immigration authorities claimed was seized from Pretti and questioned: “What is that all about? Where are the local Police? Why weren’t they allowed to defend ICE Officers?”

Trump charged at the governor and mayor and claimed they were “inciting Insurrection, with their pompous, harmful, and boastful rhetoric.”

Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem also claimed that Pretti allegedly assaulted officers, which led to his death.

In the following press conference, Frey responded to Trump’s attacks and said, “I just noticed a video of more than six masked brokers pummeling one of our constituents and taking pictures him to death.”

“How many more residents, how many more Americans, need to die or get badly harm for this operation to end?” Frey added.
