One of Jelly Roll’s fellow artists has slammed him for staying silent on politics after his Grammy Awards remark.

In an Instagram video posted Sunday, February 22, Eric Benét didn’t maintain back while criticizing the 41-year-old, whose silence about political issues backstage at the 2026 Grammys raised alarm bells for the R&B singer-songwriter.

Benét, filming himself mendacity down while talking to the digicam, started, “We all saw the Grammys and remember that moment where that Jelly Roll motherf—er [made] his speech,” referencing the nation star’s spiritual acceptance speech for Best Contemporary Country album for Beautifully Broken on February 1.

“Powerful speech, right? Holding the bible up in his hand, talking about what the Lord has done for him,” Benét continued.

The singer then in contrast Jelly Roll’s speech to a viral second backstage at the Grammys, when the nation star spoke to reporters.

“When he was asked, ‘What about the atrocities in the world?’ All of a sudden he was, ‘I’m just a dumb ol’ redneck, I keep my political views to myself,'” Benét said in his video.

“That n–a full of sh-t,” the singer added. “Never trust a person who will speak passionately and in great detail about love, but when it’s time to speak against hate, they ain’t got sh-t to say.”

The second Benét referred to in his video got here shortly after Jelly Roll received all three Grammys he was nominated for at the ceremony.

When requested if he “would be willing to comment about what’s happening in the country” after the deadly ICE shootings of Minnesotans Renee Good and Alex Pretti, Jelly Roll replied that “people shouldn’t care” about his opinion.

“I’m a dumb redneck,” he added. “I hate to be an artist who’s that aloof, but I’m so disconnected from what’s happening. … I didn’t even know politics were f—ing real until I was in my mid-20s in jail. When you grow up in a drug addict household, you think we have common calls about what’s happening in world politics?”

He also claimed that he had “a lot to say” about political points and promised to share it with followers in the next week. However, no remark has come in the three weeks since.

On Monday, February 23, Benét posted a follow-up video to handle some of the suggestions he’d acquired on the unique Jelly Roll video.

“Some of the comments were like, ‘Yo, Eric, why everyone gotta be f–ing political? He said he was gonna do some research and get back on the topics he didn’t know about,'” Benét said in the new clip.

“If you claim to be a follower of Christ, how much research do you have to do to publicly say that raping, torturing and killing children is bad? How much research you gotta do to say genocide is bad?

“How a lot research you gotta do to say that if the federal government is attempting to take away our First Amendment proper of free speech on this platform or any other or having the ability to protest in the road, or having the ability to safely protest in a avenue without having to be nervous about being murdered, then that’s dangerous?

“I think one of the reasons we are in such a jam in this country and in the world right now is because too many people are too easily manipulated by a select few who claim to be godly but are funded by the Satanic.”

He concluded, “Jesus gave you an open-book test on what it means to follow him: Shelter the homeless, feed the hungry, and love thy neighbor. All that other sh-t, does that align with those teachings? Then it’s not political. It’s you being a good Christian to speak out against that sh-t.”

Fans weren’t blissful about Jelly Roll’s dodging of the political query at the Grammys either. A TikToker, who goes by the deal with @noahglenncarter, shared a post on the matter, telling his followers, “People are exposing Jelly Roll after his comments about ICE.

“Now, after this, people went through Jelly Roll’s past and discovered that he does know a factor or two about politics,” the social media star wrote.

“They found photos of Jelly Roll hanging around different political figures,” he pointed out, as an Instagram picture of the singer smiling next to President Donald Trump‘s Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem flashed on screen.

Pictures of Jelly Roll assembly the president and others at a UFC event have also surfaced.
