Nevertheless, almost all male citizens and male immigrants residing in the U.S. who are aged 18 through 25 are required to register with the Selective Service System. That includes individuals with dual citizenship, undocumented immigrants, legal permanent residents, and refugees.

Leavitt’s comments were met with rage from Americans who oppose the war, including former Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene, who took to X to share her grievances on the possibility of conscription.

“Karoline Leavitt doesn’t rule out a draft,” Greene wrote last week on her social media.

“How about the answer is NO DRAFT AND NO BOOTS ON THE GROUND because we campaigned on NO MORE FOREIGN WARS OR REGIME CHANGE!!! Liars every single one of them! Not my son, over my dead body!!!!!,” she added.

In another post, the Georgia Republican said: “By the way a bunch of psycho Republicans want to not only draft your sons but your daughters too!!!!!. Send Lindsey Graham, Mark Levin, and Laura Loomer and ALL the murderous blood thirsty maniacs that support this America LAST WAR.”
