President Donald Trump vowed on Monday that if the Strait of Hormuz is not “immediately” opened, and if a deal with Iran is not “shortly reached,” the U.S. will goal Kharg Island again, this time “completely obliterating” the landmass.

Trump outlined both conditions in a Truth Social post on Monday morning, in which he hinted at an end to the battle, revealing that the U.S. is “in serious discussions with A NEW, AND MORE REASONABLE, REGIME.”

“Great progress has been made but, if for any purpose a deal isn’t shortly reached, which it most likely can be, and if the Hormuz Strait isn’t immediately ‘Open for Business,’ we’ll conclude our pretty ‘keep’ in Iran by blowing up and completely obliterating all of their Electric Generating Plants, Oil Wells and Kharg Island (and possibly all desalinization plants!), which we have purposefully not yet ‘touched,'” Trump wrote.

The motion, he said, “will be in retribution for our many soldiers, and others, that Iran has butchered and killed over the old Regime’s 47 year ‘Reign of Terror.'”

He signed the message in his traditional means: “Thank you for your attention to this matter. President DONALD J. TRUMP.”

The president did not present extra particulars about the new regime, including who the gamers are and how they may wrest energy from the prevailing regime — which is headed by Supreme Leader Ayatollah Mojtaba Khamenei, the son of slain Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, who was killed in the initial strikes by the U.S. and Israel against Iran on Feb. 28.

His post got here shortly after an interview with The Financial Times was printed, which featured Trump discussing the co-opting of Kharg Island’s oil terminal.

“Maybe we take Kharg Island, maybe we don’t. We have a lot of options,” Trump told the newspaper. “It would also mean we had to be there [on Kharg Island] for a while.”

The president added that Iran had agreed to enable 20 ships carrying oil through the Strait of Hormuz to go through beginning on Monday and persevering with over the next few days “out of a sign of respect.”

“I would only say that we’re doing extremely well in that negotiation, but you never know with Iran because we negotiate with them and then we always have to blow them up,” Trump said.

The U.S. has attacked Iran twice during Trump’s second time period — once last June, when the U.S. aided Israel in its 12-day struggle with the nation, and then again on Feb. 28, when it launched the strikes that started the current struggle.

Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmail Baghaei said on Monday that Tehran had been given a 15-point proposal from the Trump administration — but he said there have been no direct negotiations with Washington so far.

Iran’s parliament speaker, Mohammad Bagher Qalibaf, earlier dismissed the talks in Pakistan as a cowl to get more U.S. troops into the realm. He said Iranian forces have been “waiting for the arrival of American troops on the ground to set them on fire and punish their regional partners forever,” state media reported.
