Brennon Allen of Atlanta was brainstorming concepts for out-of-the-ordinary promenade ensembles with his girlfriend, Olivia King, when he got here across a clip from the 1994 hit comedy.

“I asked her about it and she was on board with it. And honestly, I think her mom was more on board with it than we were.”
“All of us moms that were teenagers in the ’90s were like, ‘Yes,’” said Brennon’s mom, Brooke, who posted the now-viral clip of the artistic couple, which racked up more than 2.3 million mixed views on Instagram, TikTok and Facebook.
Brennon, a senior at Trinity Christian School, arrived at his promenade on April 18 sporting a shiny orange go well with, with King, who attends Atlanta High School, donning a pale blue costume.

Only a handful knew beforehand what the duo was sporting to the promenade — which was held at The Collins Home, a historic event space in Texarkana — so most of Brennon’s classmates reveled in the shock.
“When we walked in, we had the top hats and the canes, everybody was wanting to wear them and get the canes and fight with them. Everybody was so excited about it,” Brennon recalled.

“She had to make sure I was raised right,” Brennon added.
Brooke had taken before-and-after promenade photographs of the teenagers, who have been relationship for more than a yr, never pondering it might go so viral.
“I just told them, kind of on a whim, I was like, ‘Y’all hold hands and jump.’ And then, when I got to prom, I was like, ‘OK, do it again.’ And I didn’t know what I was gonna do with it,” Brooke said.
“So I made the little video, posted it, didn’t think a thing about it. And then I just started getting all the notifications.”

“People commented, ‘Just when I think, this generation couldn’t possibly be any dumber, they go and do something like this … aaaaand TOTALLY REDEEM THEMSELVES!!!’” he said, laughing.
