Blake Griffin, Taylor Rooks take shots at Shams…

The “NBA on Prime” crew had a few phrases for Shams Charania after ESPN’s NBA insider spoiled Amazon’s NBA MVP reveal.

Charania broke the news Sunday morning that Oklahoma City Thunder’s Shai Gilgeous-Alexander gained the MVP award for the second straight 12 months — before Amazon’s scheduled announcement of the award later that night time, with an look from the winner.

Taylor Rooks, who is the host of “NBA on Prime,” introduced up Charania’s report during Sunday’s pregame show with NBA analysts Steve Nash, Blake Griffin and Dirk Nowitzki.

“Alright now, just to be clear, the official [MVP] announcement is happening here [on Prime],” Rooks said.

“Dirk and Steve you both won MVPs, but I don’t remember Shams spoiling it way back then.”

Nash, who gained the MVP award in two consecutive seasons (2004-05 and 2005-06), laughed and said, “Shots.”

Nowitzki, who gained the award during the 2006-07 season, added, “[Shams] was a baby then.”

Griffin didn’t mince phrases in his response.

“What are we doing man? It’s Sunday Shams, go to brunch you nerd,” he said.

Charania broke the news in an X post at 9:50 a.m. ET, and ESPN printed a news story shortly after. He also made an look on “SportsCenter” to talk about the news.

During Sunday’s Prime pregame show, Gilgeous-Alexander said that Nash, a fellow Canadian and NBA Hall of Famer, “was the first person” to inform him he was going to the NBA.

The reigning Finals MVP, Gilgeous-Alexander, beat out other MVP finalists Nikola Jokic and Victor Wembanyama.

Gilgeous-Alexander’s spouse Hailey, and son, Ares, along with household and buddies, including his dad, Vaughn, and cousin, Nickeil Alexander-Walker, had been all current during his MVP news convention Sunday.

After successful the NBA MVP award, Gilgeous-Alexander gifted his teammates Audemars Piguet watches and Burberry trench coats.

Gilgeous-Alexander also gained the league’s Clutch Player of the Year award this season.
