GB News issues migrant crisis alert – and it is bad | UK News
GB News aired another update on the continuing migrant crisis as the scenario continues to worsen. GB News‘ Home and Security editor Mark White revealed that a boat carrying unlawful migrants launched from the furthest away seashore ever recorded, suggesting people smugglers try to outsmart the French police.
Speaking to presenters Tom Harwood and Emily Carver, Mark said: “We are now over 1,000 small boat arrivals since Friday because yesterday 72 arrived. In addition to that, late last night two other small boats arrived.” Mark revealed that two other small boats are at the moment on their approach across the Channel.
“The most notable one of those vessels has launched from the furthest beach south that has ever been recorded. Way down in Normandy, the boat launched south of Dieppe,” he explained.
“It’s about 100 miles south than the normal launch points around the Dunkirk and Calais area.”
Mark added: “We have enhanced police patrols. We’re seeing them daily now, in particular around Calais and Dunkirk. That’s making it very difficult.”
On Monday (May 25), there have been tried launches from the seashore in Dunkirk which had been thwarted by the police.
Mark went on: “You could say this British government giving yet more money to the French, it seems to be having an effect. But what it’s doing is pushing the problem up into the beaches of Belgium.”
Multiple launches from Belgium have taken place since Friday (May 22) and boats are now departing from a lot additional south to keep away from patrols.
Despite this, the boat is at the moment being escorted by a French patrol vessel.
It is yet another blow to Prime Minister Keir Starmer, who repeatedly promised to “smash the gangs”.
