President Donald Trump is predicted to make a journey to Camp David on Wednesday, where he’ll maintain a cupboard assembly as peace talks with Iran enter dire straits.

All members of Trump’s cupboard, including outgoing Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard, will head to the presidential lodge in rural Maryland. The New York Post reported that due to climate situations, the assembly could also be moved to a new location.

While Trump normally flies to the presidential retreat by helicopter, heavy rains in Washington, D.C., may pressure the journey to be scrapped. The White House told the Daily Express U.S. on Tuesday that the journey goes as deliberate.

According to the White House, officers at the assembly will talk about current successes of the administration, including economic system and small business wins, Task Force to Eliminate Fraud highlights, and international coverage updates.” The official told The Post that the administration will also work to highlight affordability and other issues of concern to voters ahead of the November midterms.

However, it was reported that Iran is likely to dominate the majority of the talks after the U.S. conducted several strikes overnight on targets in southern Iran. The attacks were met with a statement from Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei, threatening to attack military bases in Iran.

Last week, it was reported that Trump was ready to resume military action against Iran as soon as the ceasefire expired. Retired Army General Jack Keane said that the U.S. is on the cusp of returning to full-throttle combat operations.

During a Fox News appearance on Monday, Keane was asked about the president’s continued requests to reopen the Strait of Hormuz. “Thirty of the 33 missile websites in the strait still stay, and access has been restored to 30 of 33, said anchor Bill Hemmer.

“Is the U.S. military operating from square one now after this quote-unquote ‘ceasefire,’ general, starting now?” he added. Keane said the Iranian regime needs to “run this clock out” to increase the political and financial stress on Trump.

“And they just don’t care about the suffering of people,” he continued. “What do they care about? They care about one, the survival of the regime and themselves. That’s what this is all about. And if they get a negotiated deal, they think that they’ll get financing to help recover the regime. That is what their objective is here.”

According to the U.S., the “self-defense strikes” have been against Iranian missile launch websites and boats close to the Strait of Hormuz on Monday. U.S. forces carried out self-defense strikes in southern Iran today to shield our troops from threats posed by Iranian forces,” CENTCOM spokesman Timothy Hawkins told GWN.

“Targets included missile launch sites and Iranian boats attempting to emplace mines. U.S. Central Command continues to defend our forces while using restraint during the ongoing ceasefire,” he said. Hawkins did not indicate what threats the American troops had allegedly been subject to on Monday.

The strikes got here even as the United States and Iran appeared to be closing in on a deal to end the warfare and open the Strait of Hormuz. Trump said Monday that negotiations are “proceeding nicely,” while reiterating his warning that combating would resume if no deal is reached, The Associated Press reported.
