Fox News shared a breaking alert as President Donald Trump accused a nation of “willful negligence.”

On Friday, July 17, Fox News reported on the 80-year-old Commander-in-Chief’s scathing message to Canada, as smoke from wildfires ravaging the Ontario space has continued to seep into major cities across the Midwest, Northeast, and mid-Atlantic. In a new Truth Social post, Trump said he’ll maintain Canada accountable for “not properly maintaining their Forests” as the smoke has introduced hazardous air high quality to hundreds of thousands of Americans.

The president, who lately admitted he did not “feel great” on Fox News, additional accused Canada of refusing to “engage in basic forest management and debris removal,” and added that the nation’s “willful negligence” has value the U.S. “billions of dollars.”

Another added, “Yep. We are drained of this s—. Not to point out the hundreds of thousands of animals that have to die. Snakes. Birds, Moose and Bear. Baby squirrels and coons who can not escape. It’s a genocide up there.”

As of Friday, about 888 fires had been burning in Canada, according to the Canadian Wildland Fire Information System. A majority are burning out of control.

More than 190 of those fires are burning in Ontario, affecting millions of Canadians and leading to the evacuation of hundreds of people from communities across large areas in the province.

Meanwhile, according to GWN, more than 100 million people in 18 states, and Washington, D.C., have been under air quality alerts over the last couple of days.

“Very unhealthy” and “hazardous” air quality has spanned from northeast Minnesota to southeast Virginia.

On Thursday, July 16, Prime Minister Mark Carney did not address accusations against his government from Republican politicians, but suggested that the U.S. should do more to combat climate change.

Scientists claim that climate change is a significant factor in the worst wildfires.

Before Trump’s message on Friday, Doug Ford, the premier of Ontario, was frustrated with complaints from American lawmakers about the smoke.

“As for other elected officers in the U.S., I’ve to remind the American people, when there was wildfires in California, we had our water bombers on standby,” Ford, a conservative, told reporters, while listing other U.S. disasters that Ontario helped with.
