President Donald Trump raged on Wednesday about the huge in a single day assaults Iran carried out on American bases in Jordan in the latest indication of an intensifying struggle in Iran.

Iran’s Foreign Ministry condemned the U.S.-Saudi attacks in Iraq. The ministry said it supported Iraq “and held the ‘war-mongering U.S. regime’ and its allies accountable,” Iran’s semi-official Tasnim news agency reported on its Telegram channel. Meanwhile, Iraq’s recently elected President Nizar Amidi condemned the attacks, describing them as “unacceptable and a flagrant violation of Iraq’s sovereignty.”
The latest attacks come as it was revealed that Iran has not sought negotiations with the U.S. over the past two weeks and will not give up its control of the Strait of Hormuz, Deputy Foreign Minister Kazem Gharibabadi said. He said that while Trump claimed Iran was “dying for a negotiation,” the reality was vastly different.
“We have despatched no request for negotiation with the US during the past 16–17 days,” Gharibabadi said.
