Orioles under fire after Zay Flowers guest…
Orioles followers who spent a whole bunch of {dollars} to sit in the staff’s Bird Bath Splash Zone had been left annoyed on Saturday when Zay Flowers, slated to be the membership’s guest splasher for the night time, didn’t show.
Flowers, the Ravens wideout who was announced in June as the guest splasher, had apparently canceled without any announcement to that impact. Though the Orioles stopped selling him, it wasn’t made clear to followers that he wasn’t coming.
“While we had included the appearance with our original announcement, we did not continue to promote,” an Orioles spokesman told the Baltimore Sun, including that the staff will “work with any fans who reach out for a satisfactory solution.”
Representatives for Flowers and for the Ravens didn’t remark to the Sun.

The Splash Zone, a function at Camden Yards since 2023, is a common function at the ballpark in which followers get sprayed with water from Mr. Splash and a solid of guest splashers.
Flowers was announced June 18 as a guest splasher for Saturday, with the Orioles also saying he would throw out the first pitch. The post on X asserting it was deleted, but followers still purchased tickets and paid a premium pondering he can be there.
Flowers did throw out the first pitch, making his absence from the splash zone all the more weird.

“We came to this game because he was supposed to be here,” Sarah Stanton, one such fan, whose household of 11 spent over $800, told the Sun. “We saw him on camera, but he just didn’t come here.”
Fans in the Splash Zone part chanted “We want Zay,” but had to settle instead for the pair of mascots.
“I’d say, at least let everybody know,” Chris Meyers, a fan whose fiancee spent $400 on tickets told the Sun. “But no, they just bring out the Ravens bird and that’s it. You know, people spent a lot of money on these tickets.”
