Ariana Grande subtly trolls JK Rowling amid Emma | TV Shows

Saturday Night Live did not maintain back as the show’s comedians mocked JK Rowling, one thing Ariana Grande appears to have discovered hilarious.

The writer was mocked by SNL following her explosive feud with Emma Watson, in which Rowling slammed the actress as “ignorant.” In the skit, comic Bowen Yang dressed up as beloved Harry Potter character Dobby, who claimed he’d been despatched by his “master,” Rowling.

SNL star Michael Che requested Dobby if he was scared to be in the studio, as the character replied, “Why would Dobby be scared, sir? Dobby’s just about to publicly weigh in on trans people,” referencing Rowling’s controversial feedback about trans people.

“Master sent Dobby to go on the telly and define once and for all what a woman is, sir,” Yang’s Dobby added.

The comic then sarcastically thanked Rowling for doing “so much for inclusion,” before saying, “Remember when Dumbledore was gay after the books came out? And when Hermione was Black only on Broadway? And was Cho Chang Asian? Dobby can’t remember if the character named Cho Chang was Asian.”

The SNL skit comes after Watson said she still “treasured” her recollections with Rowling, with the writer later suggesting Watson was making an attempt to shift her stance because “full-throated condemnation of me is not as fashionable as it once was.”

She then slammed the actress as “ignorant,” saying, “I wasn’t a multimillionaire at fourteen. I lived in poverty while writing the book that made Emma famous.”

Her assertion continued, “I therefore understand from my own life experience what the trashing of women’s rights in which Emma has so enthusiastically participated means to women and girls without her privileges.”
