Celebrity Traitors viewers have expressed their fury over the latest star to be ‘murdered’ on the BBC One recreation show, claiming the Traitors made a catastrophic “blunder”.
During Wednesday’s (22 October) episode opening, viewers found that the trio of Traitors – Jonathan Ross, Alan Carr and Cat Burns – had determined to remove Charlotte Church, after deliberating between her, Kate Garraway and David Olusoga.
The surprising second witnessed singer Charlotte ‘murdered’ in a single day, with the remaining Celebrity Traitors forged discovering her departure the next morning during their breakfast gathering.
Stephen Fry addressed actress Celia Imrie, declaring: “How wrong we are!” while Mark Bonnar maintained: “That’s utterly insane.”
Viewers at home expressed comparable sentiments across social media platforms, with one posting on X: “Gutted Charlotte Church is out. Would have loved to have seen her recruited. #CelebrityTraitors #TheTraitors.”

Despite the shock of her co-stars and fans, Charlotte wasn’t stunned when she was chosen to be ‘murdered’ by the Traitors. She confessed that her outspoken nature during her stint on the show possible made her a goal, studies Daily Record.
“I thought I was going to be murdered,” Charlotte candidly confessed after discovering she was the latest casualty.
She elaborated: “I’m outspoken at the roundtable and I’m outspoken with my opinions. Not that I was successful in being much of a threat to the Traitors.
“But as the sport progressed, I hope that I’d have been and I hope that’s why they’ve gotten rid of me. Well performed, Traitors.”
Charlotte is the fourth celebrity to be ‘murdered’ on the BBC show, following Paloma Faith, Tom Daley and Ruth Codd. Meanwhile, Clare Balding, Niko Omilana and Tameka Empson have all been banished by their co-stars, who suspected them of being Traitors but were proven wrong when they each were revealed to be Faithfuls.
