Celebrity Masterchef star Michelle Heaton, who is presently showing on the BBC show, has opened up about a horrific incident which noticed the police called in after a male fan punched her to the ground. The unwarranted assault occurred while she was on tour with her band Liberty X, who had been shaped in 2001 after the members appeared on the TV expertise show Popstars. Alongside Michelle, it featured Jessica Taylor, Kelli Young, Tony Lundon and Kevin Simm.
Recalling the occasions main up to the second she said: “We were in Germany once, and these fans were in a car behind us, following us so closely we actually got run off the road. Again in Germany, we were walking to the stage at a gig, all holding hands to walk through the crowd. And this man punched me to the ground.” She said her bandmate, Kevin Simm, immediately called security. “They got me up on my feet, and the gig was immediately cancelled; we were rushed out and into a holding room,” she said.
“The police came, and the man was eventually caught, and it was all on CCTV. That was terrifying,” she admitted in a chat with the Mirror.
Unsurprisingly, she added that this led to the band being pressured to increase security presence around them to keep them protected.
“Another ripple effect from the attack was that the band turned down several nightclub gigs. “We had been always watching our backs,” she said.
She compared it to the recent incident in which Ariana Grande found herself accosted by a fan during the Wicked: For Good press tour, lamenting that such behaviour still persists.
Mum-of-two Michelle was left “gutted” on the Tuesday, November 25 edition of Celebrity Masterchef when she suffered a culinary disaster.
While preparing a halloumi burger with sweet chilli jam and sweet potato fries, disaster struck as she left her sweet potatoes in the oven for too long, resulting in them being burnt to a crisp.
“Oh, no!” she exclaimed as she held her head in her hands. “I truly cannot imagine it. Burned my candy potato fries.” Despite the setback, Michelle refused to admit defeat and quickly prepared some small sweet potato cubes to serve in place of them.
“I’m completely gutted,” she admitted as she set about cooking the new side dish.”
