Bryson DeChambeau has confessed that “nothing surprises” him anymore when it comes to skilled golf, citing the “many egos at play,” as the LIV Golf star mentioned his murky future following Brooks Koepka’s exit.

A pathway back to the PGA Tour has emerged for DeChambeau after Koepka’s gorgeous reversal on Monday. The five-time major winner walked away from LIV in December and is set to compete at the Farmers Insurance Open in a fortnight following acceptance of a number of financial sanctions.

Koepka’s choice prompted the PGA Tour to introduce the Returning Member Program, out there until Feb. 2, offering just three golfers – DeChambeau, Jon Rahm, and Cam Smith – an alternative to rejoin the circuit. Each of the trio has subsequently dedicated to LIV through the 2026 marketing campaign.

Yet DeChambeau’s plans after that stay unclear. His contract expires at yr’s end, and he has averted making definitive statements about staying with the league.

Speaking completely to Mirror Sports US in West Palm Beach, Florida, on Wednesday, the two-time major winner mirrored on the precarious nature of his profession trajectory.

“I’m not surprised by anything that happens in the golf world anymore. There are too many egos at play,” he remarked.

“It’s been an interesting week to say the least. There’s a lot of moving parts. Brooks has definitely thrown some stuff and made a ripple in the golf world.

“Ultimately, I’m going to do what’s best for growing the sport of golf, which is a lot of YouTube channel stuff, enjoying internationally as a lot as I can.

“I am under contract this year and I’m excited to show my skill set across the globe. The majors, I’m especially excited there, and I’m looking forward to a lot of good golf this year.”

When requested about his expectations from LIV to renew his contract, he emphasised that he needs LIV to align more with his imaginative and prescient.

He highlighted the business success of his workforce, the Crushers, and urged LIV to implement the business modifications he needs swiftly enough to persuade him to re-sign.

“There are some business opportunities that need to be secured and solidified, and processes that need to move quicker. But for the most part, it’s a four-year-old business so it’s going to take time to get there,” he said.

“It’s if they can move quick enough and get to a place where I am comfortable next year, where we can make decisions, decisions that make the business make sense, and then things make a lot more sense. We are the highest revenue-producing team and we’re doing very well, and we’re the leanest. From a business perspective, we’re doing very well. It’s making money and we’re excited about that, but we just need to get some of the bureaucratic processes eased up a bit.”

DeChambeau possesses appreciable negotiating energy with the breakaway circuit. When questioned about his strong bargaining place, he made it clear that he is not tied completely to either LIV Golf or the PGA Tour.

“All I’ll say is I’m trying to do the best I can for the game of golf, whether that’s on YouTube, or LIV, or wherever. I’m just going to continue to inspire kids,” he said.

“We can talk about leverage all day long. I really just try to show as much value as I can, and if LIV sees it, great. If not, if the PGA Tour sees it, great. If not, OK, not a big deal. If YouTube sees it, great.

“I’m OK either approach and all I would like to do is continue to grow the sport and inspire a bunch of children to play the sport of golf.”
