Two-time U.S. Open champion Bryson DeChambeau struggled with bunkers and tumbled down the leaderboard at LIV Golf Singapore.

DeChambeau departed the PGA Tour for the Saudi-funded league in 2022 and has secured two LIV Golf particular person titles, while main the Crushers GC to the crew championship in 2023. “For some purpose, there wasn’t as a lot wind around there, and I assume the greens acquired slower in that space, and I three-putted a few of them, and that price me some momentum. Other than that, I performed great golf. I nearly performed just as good as yesterday, just issues did not line up.”

DeChambeau acknowledged after the second round that he’s approaching a period of dominance. “I hope so,” said DeChambeau.

“This golf course, you’ve got always acquired to be on your watch, and sadly with it being so tough out right here and all people enjoying so nicely, that can go real fast.

“You’ve got to be on top of your game no matter what. I had moments out there on 14 when I hit that shot right at the flag, it felt under control, and then I went and hit it in the water on the next hole. That’s the game of golf.”

Looking forward to the 2026 season, LIV Golf considerably altered its event format from three days to 4, a modification that DeChambeau initially expressed reservations about. “Yeah, I actually do,” said DeChambeau at LIV Golf Singapore, referring to his mindset after the format shift.

It’s a compelling dialogue, for a number of causes. I believe both have their benefits and disadvantages, as nicely.

“I think from my perspective, when we were playing three rounds, it was a sprint so you had to go for everything and have the best game possible, and if you made a bogey or double, you were putting yourself quite a bit behind the 8-ball. Now with it being four days, that doesn’t matter as much.

“It’s just a different kind of mindset for a lot of people. For me, I still attempt to act like a dash because I would like to really feel that method going into majors. I would like to really feel prepared to go from gap one, and those three days help me get into that mindset, which is a benefit to me.

“But I’m still trying to keep that same mindset from the three-day tournaments last year. You have to full-court press and be conservative where you have to be conservative.

“That’s actually helped me in majors in the past. But it’s a different mindset for some people because you’ll be able to hit a couple unhealthy photographs right here and there and have one tremendous low spherical and be proper back in the combo of it. So it is undoubtedly a different mindset.

“I think in three days, each shot matters a little more, and four days it tests your overall resiliency. It’s just two different ways to play the game, I think, but the lowest score is going to win no matter what.”
