Five full months after the 2025 Ryder Cup defeat and Keegan Bradley is still recovering from the loss the U.S. suffered at Bethpage Black.

He was overseeing a squad of the 12 best golfers in the nation and working toward a victory against Europe, but the Europeans departed smiling after dominating the U.S. throughout the first two days.

“Listen, it’s been a little difficult,” said Bradley at the Players Championship, addressing change and steadiness since last season. “I’m still heartbroken from the Ryder Cup. So I am trying my best to separate myself and move on, but it’s hard. I think about it a lot. I think about the guys a lot, and I’m still in the process of getting past all that.”

Bradley confronted relentless criticism, from pairings to course set-up, with the ultimate straw being fan harassment toward Rory McIlroy.

“No,” responded Bradley to whether or not he is experiencing remorse or just ideas in his head. “Unless you’re a captain of the Ryder Cup team, you just have no idea what goes into it and the emotional toll that it takes on you.

“I believe like a lot of guys that do it, they’re principally finished taking part in, so they never again – I’m the first particular person to have to type of deal with this, get back on the market, strive to be one of the best gamers in the world and make the next staff. So I’m still navigating how to do that. But it is on my thoughts.”

Team USA has approached Tiger Woods about the captaincy, but the 15-time major champion’s schedule is packed with two board positions on the American circuit, injury rehabilitation, and managing his indoor golf league, TGL.

Bradley maintained his previous stance, confirming he would welcome another opportunity to lead the team.

“I imply, yeah, sure, I might, but I do not know if that’s in the playing cards for – yeah I believe any Ryder Cup captain that loses would love to do it again, I might think about,” Bradley said.

“But that’s not up to me. I do not suppose that – I believe that the distraction of me taking part in, possibly taking part in is not actually what the place is about. So who is aware of in the future.”
