Taskmaster is drawing to a close and Channel 4 has already revealed what will fill its slot next week.

Greg Davies and Alex Horne are presiding over the ultimate instalment of their quirky Channel 4 recreation show tonight, Thursday, eleventh June, with the 5 celebrities all vying for the coveted golden Taskmaster trophy.

At current, comic Amy Gledhill, author Armando Iannucci, actor Kumail Nanjiani and Gavin and Stacey’s Joanna Page stay in competition for victory, though presenter Joel Dommett sadly no longer has adequate factors to win.

Channel 4 audiences are keenly awaiting the finale, but many are already curious about what will succeed Taskmaster following its 10-week run in the Thursday night primetime slot.

It has now been confirmed that Taskmaster season 21’s substitute next week is a “real hidden gem” that has both “captivated” audiences and beforehand left viewers feeling “physically sick”.

Billed as an “eye-opening” true crime documentary collection, Channel 4 is scheduled to repeat a in style episode of 24 Hours in Police Custody.

The critically acclaimed programme chronicles the day-to-day work of officers investigating critical crimes, documenting the whole lot from the initial arrest through to the eventual charge.

Originally broadcast in 2021, this episode, titled The No Body illegal killing, follows Cambridgeshire Police as “DCI Adam Gallop believe a man declared missing in 2015 has been murdered.

“But has so far been unable to find his physique and the more time passes, the less likelihood there may be of new witnesses or forensic evidence turning up.”

The official description continues: “The police investigation takes officers from an pressing excavation in the woods where the lacking man is believed to have been shot to a journey across Europe in search of clues.”

Heading to IMDb, one enthusiastic viewer declared: “Arguably ‘true crime’ has never seen a better documentary.”

However, before 24 Hours in Police Custody makes its eagerly awaited return to our screens next week, there is still the Taskmaster finale to look forward to first.

The official synopsis for tonight’s Taskmaster final reads: “Amy Gledhill actually tears her hair out, Armando Iannucci performs the recorder while using a trike with a plunger on his head.
