CBP supervisor accused of harboring undocumented | Political News

A Customs and Border Protection supervisor has been arrested for allegedly residing with his undocumented girlfriend, Texas federal prosecutors said on Wednesday.

A prison criticism discovered that 52-year-old Andres Wilkinson had a “romantic relationship” with an undocumented girl Elva Edith Garcia-Vallejo, and that Wilkinson was conscious of her standing

The girl entered the nation on a non-immigrant visa in August 2023 and overstayed. When law enforcement performed surveillance of Wilkinson’s residence, it discovered an undocumented girl along with her minor youngster. The press assertion doesn’t say the kid is also Wilkinson’s.

This criticism notes Garcia-Vallejo lived with her husband in Laredo, Texas.  He also petitioned for her to stay in January 2024 but canceled this request three months later.

Court paperwork declare the girl also used autos registered under him.

Investigators interviewed the girl in 2026 and she admitted to staying with Wilkinson since August 2024, court data confirmed. He also offered housing, credit playing cards, and other financial help, court paperwork allege. The criticism also claims the federal immigration supervisor,  who’s served with Customs and Border Protection since 2001, knowingly transported the undocumented girls through U.S Border Patrol checkpoints.

Garcia-Vallej said Wilkinson knew she was working with a lawyer to handle her immigration standing, according to the criticism.  She and her youngster also traveled with Wilkinson to San Antonio, court papers confirmed.

Wilkinson will face a most of 10 years in federal prison and probably a $250,000 if convicted.

Customs and Border Patrol’s OPR from May last yr “received law enforcement database research indicating that Garcia-Vallejo is SCPO Wilkinson’s niece.” The girl was recognized as the daughter of a man who Wilkinson is a brother of.

Andres Wilkinson was was promoted to a supervisory place in 2021. He will stay in custody pending a detention listening to on Friday before the U.S. Magistrate Judge Brian C. Bajew.
