President Donald Trump made a last-minute change to his schedule, canceling his weekend plans to keep at Trump National Golf Club Bedminster in New Jersey to instead journey back to the White House.
It’s not yet clear why the change occurred. Daily Express US reached out to the White House for remark on the alteration.
The White House referred Daily Express US to a Truth Social post the president made earlier on Friday afternoon, detailing his choice to forego attending his son’s wedding ceremony.
“While I very much wanted to be with my son, Don Jr., and the newest member of the Trump Family, his soon to be wife, Bettina, circumstances pertaining to Government, and my love for the United States of America, do not allow me to do so,” he wrote.
“I feel it is important for me to remain in Washington, D.C., at the White House during this important period of time,” he added. “Congratulations to Don and Bettina! President DONALD J. TRUMP.”
The post never specified what “circumstances pertaining to Government” meant, but hypothesis has been rife that a peace deal with Iran may very well be around the nook.
