Channel 4 has sparked uproar after the latest episode of Celebrity Gogglebox left viewers livid. Friday’s (July 24) episode, which noticed the likes of Rylan Clark and Linda Clark, Martin Kemp and Roman Kemp, Vicky Pattison and Pete Wicks, Stephen Mangan and Anita Mangan, and Denise Van Outen and Johnny Vaughan reunited on the couch as armchair critics. However, just minutes in, fans rapidly observed the star-studded spin-off was truly a repeated episode.

The programme kicked off with the celebrities watching an episode of Lee Mack’s celeb 1% Club which initially aired as a Soccer Aid charity version in June 2025. Then, a disastrous instalment of Match Me Abroad that first landed on screens in July 2025. Longtime fans of Celebrity Gogglebox rapidly realised that they had already watched the episode and took to social media to complain. One raged: “#Gogglebox, why don’t you realise we want to watch current shows, not old versions – fuming as could have started a film an hour ago instead of waiting for this.” As another echoed: “Urghhh, a repeat.”

A 3rd fumed: “This is boring. #celebritygogglebox is always crap. And this is a repeat. So it’s double crap.”

“Having déjà vu on this #gogglebox like I’ve seen it before,” added another.

While another addressed Channel 4 and prompt: “Time for a new episode of Celebrity Gogglebox.”

“Ugh, Channel 4, I didn’t sit down to watch a repeat! New episode, please, I’m begging,” pleaded another viewer.

Earlier this month, the hit actuality show returned with its eighth sequence with a model new line-up of well-known TV lovers, including Amy Dowden and Carlos Gu, Jake Shears and Josh Homme, Olivia Attwood, Harry Aikines-Aryeetey and Matt Morsia, George Clarke and Max Balegde, Julian Clary and Nigel Havers.

Since its debut in 2019, the sequence has welcomed 173 well-known faces to its sofas while celeb contributors have shared their views on 228 tv programmes and movies.

Earlier this month, Celebrity Gogglebox also celebrated a milestone fiftieth episode and as traditional, the celebs shared their passionate opinions on the week’s major cleaning soap operas, factual programmes and hard-hitting drama.

Ahead of her debut, Olivia shared: “Doing Celebrity Gogglebox with my mum was chaotic but in the best possible way. It’s not often that we agree on things which I think the viewers may find entertaining. My family are huge fans of the show, so it’s a real honour to be a part of such an iconic British programme.”

As Harry, also identified as Nitro, said: “Filming Celebrity Gogglebox was pure fun from start to finish, just a proper night in full of laughs, brilliant TV, and plenty of unexpected moments. It was a really enjoyable experience and great fun to be part of.”
