Teddy Atlas thought UFC 333 Yan vs. Dvalishvili | MMA News
Legendary boxing coach Teddy Atlas weighed in on the UFC 333 main event trilogy bout between bantamweight champion Petr Yan and former titleholder Merab Dvalishvili. The struggle, like their first two, went the space. Yan received via unanimous choice with all three judges scoring the struggle precisely he same, 48-47.
Some people, including fighters, felt Dvalishvili’s hand ought to have been raised. Atlas wasn’t one of them. He not only believes the judges received it proper, he didn’t suppose the struggle was tough to rating.
“I thought it was one of the simpler fights to rating. Call me loopy. I don’t care,” Atlas said on THE FIGHT with Teddy Atlas. “I had the first two rounds for Merab and the next three to the champ, Yan. And when he had to be the champ, he was a champ. I might go away it with that. That could possibly be my analysis. I can go away it with that. I’ll go a little more, but I can go away it with two issues.
“He harm him again in the physique. He was trying for that because that’s what actually separated him in the first struggle. I imply the second struggle. I’m sorry. This is a trilogy. The second struggle, the last struggle. He gave Merab a beating.”
The second factor Atlas attributed to main to Yan’s victory was the Russian’s tenacity and champion dedication.
“When the championship rounds, whatever you need to call it, but when it got here time to say, “I need to keep my title. I’m not giving up my title. I’m champion!” When it got here time to do that, he did that. That’s what took over the struggle. That’s when he took over the struggle,” he said.
