“I still have that moment of, ‘holy s—, I’m in New York,” Lake, 43, told The Post in an exclusive interview. “I still think of myself as the kid that was in his bedroom in Scotland, trying to make beats to get people’s attention..New York is an internationally-recognized word. It’s very difficult to ignore.”

Of course, he’ll be bringing pals along to the Big Apple as effectively. To keep issues contemporary, Lake has enlisted different help acts for each night time of his mini BK residency.

To kick issues off, OMNOM and Stixx will share the stage with the hitmaker on Friday, June 5.

“[‘Chemistry’] just felt like the right thing to do at the time,” he famous. “I was writing like a madman. It was a very intense period.”

For followers, this means spontaneous Brooklyn reveals. Lake likes to feed into the power of the gang, altering up his set as he goes, residing in the second. And, if his own description is any indication, no two nights might be precisely the same.

“It’s unstructured,” Lake said of his live reveals. “The consistent thing is that I don’t plan anything. I turn up and just go where the room takes me.”

And if you’re debating whether or not or not to go, the party-starting turntablist’s pitch was a bit colourful, but got here down to his love for home music:

“Stop overthinking it, buy the ticket and go dance,” he smiled. “My crowds are so good. I am so fortunate with the people that turn up. New York’s a fantastic example of it.”

That’s precisely why he retains coming back.
