We wrote Monday about the case of 84-year-old Nancy Guthrie, who was last seen between 9:30 and 9:45 pm local time Saturday in Catalina Foothills, Arizona, after being dropped off at her home by a member of the family.
Mrs. Guthrie is the mom of NBC News “Today Show” co-host Savannah Guthrie.
Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos has said from the start that he believes that this was an abduction – presumably from her mattress as she slept, not a case where the sufferer took a journey without telling anybody or wandered off. I’m trying not to read too much into that, but between that statement and the look on the sheriff’s face in response to a question about whether he believed Mrs. Guthrie was still alive, it increases the worry that there won’t be a positive outcome from this:
