A nation singer is slamming sexism and gender inequality as she opens up about hate in the style.

Dasha, 25, mirrored on how the nation music industry treats males and girls otherwise and gender norms during a new podcast look.

The singer-songwriter, who blends nation and pop, rose to fame after her 2023 single Austin (Boots Stop Workin’) went viral on TikTok. The tune turned her first charting track, reaching No. 18 on the Billboard Hot 100 in 2024.

During an look on Rolling Stone’s Nashville Now podcast, she mentioned the draw back to being a feminine nation music star.

“It digs in on things I have said about myself in my moments of weakness and I think that’s why it cuts so deep,” she said. “‘Cause I would look in the mirror and think… ‘Get your s— together.’ I know that’s not true, but everyone talks about themselves like that sometimes…. It cuts deep.”

Still, the nation music star added that she continuously works on viewing the adverse social media feedback in a different gentle.

“Now, when I see those comments. I’m like, ‘Thanks, Karen from Minnesota, you’re feeding my algorithm. Appreciate you, girl,'” she said. “People call me ‘Trailer Swift’ online, and guess what I’m doing? Making merch out of it.”

Dasha added, “I feel so grateful to be in the position I am, and it’s really hard on you and it takes a lot out of you, and I just needed it to be being a role model for especially young girls and showing like, ‘Hey, you don’t have to be perfect. It’s actually really beautiful not to have it all together.'”

The singer’s profession “went from zero to 100” after she launched hit Austin (Boots Stop Workin’) in 2024.

After rising to fame, she realized to trust her gust because there’s no time to hesitate.

She said, “I think I’m learning to for sure. I think at first I was really afraid to show my personality, and now those are the videos that do the best for me, funny enough, are the ones that I’m just f—— around.”

She also thinks there’s been a lot of “pressure in the past,” particularly on Instagram, “to be so perfect and have it all lined up and aesthetic and the perfect casual caption that no one really cares, but it’s really curated.”
