Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel vowed that the nation would raise an “impregnable resistance” in response to renewed threats from President Donald Trump to take over the island earlier in the week.

Taking to X to issue the risk, Díaz-Canel wrote, “The US publicly threatens #Cuba, almost daily, with overthrowing the constitutional order by force.”

The feedback come after Trump told reporters in the Oval Office on Monday that he would have the “honor” of taking over Cuba.

Trump said, “Whether I free it, take it, I think I can do anything I want with it.” He went on to call them a “weakened nation now.”

A blackout in Cuba has been affecting practically 11 million people after the Trump administration cut off the island’s main oil provide from Venezuela at the end of January.

The transfer was half of the president’s ongoing effort to broker a new deal with the Cuban authorities — the small print for which haven’t yet been launched.

Díaz-Canel confirmed last week that his authorities is speaking with the White House to deal with “bilateral differences” and to find “areas of cooperation” between both nations.

The Cuban president said those discussions are “a very sensitive process that is conducted with seriousness and responsibility.”

Meanwhile, Trump said on Sunday that the Cuban authorities needed to “make a deal” with the U.S. and that the settlement can be made “pretty soon.”

The president emphasised that his administration would “do Iran before Cuba,” however, referring to his ongoing struggle on Iran being waged in tandem with Israel.

Díaz-Canel pushed back on those feedback from Trump on Tuesday in a assertion.

“In the face of the worst scenario, #Cuba is accompanied by a certainty: any external aggressor will clash with an impregnable resistance,” he warned.
