Dana White releases first UFC White House event | MMA News

UFC CEO Dana White gave the first glimpse of what followers can count on when the UFC hosts an event on the White House garden next summer season.

White appeared on Fox News on Friday and revealed renderings of the battle promotion’s plans for the event’s structure.

White and company are building a lighting arch to illuminate the octagon with the White House on one aspect and the Washington Monument on the other aspect. White reiterated that the battle card will featured the ‘best line-up ever.”

“What I want to do is build, you know, the best card we’ve ever built that will make people just go crazy,,” said the UFC CEO in a latest interview with the IMPAUSIVE podcast. “It will be live and free on CBS from the White House.”

“The way that we’re doing this thing, like let’s say this is the octagon, right? We’re building this arch, almost like the St. Louis arch, like this, and the lighting grid will go above the octagon,” continued White.

“So, when we shoot this fight, this whole backdrop will be the White House. And then, when the cameras move over and the fight’s this way, it’s all the Washington Monument on this side.”

“There’s a park that’s sort of connected to the White House, and we’ll have 85,000 people there with big screens. We’re gonna do concerts, we’re gonna do UFC X there. We’re gonna take over DC.”
