Death in Paradise fans spot Widows Bay star in series | UK News

A Widow’s Bay star once featured prominently in Death in Paradise. The BBC is at the moment broadcasting repeat episodes of Death in Paradise, with Wednesday evening’s exhibiting that includes series 11, episode 5. In the 2022 instalment, Ralf Little portrayed lead character DI Neville Parker prior to his departure in 2024.

The repeat episode centred on a younger pop star found useless at a rehabilitation clinic, with circumstances initially suggesting a tragic accident. Yet Neville remained satisfied there was more to her demise than first appeared…

The episode marked the introduction of Neville’s sister, Izzy. Neville was far from delighted by his sister’s look, notably given she had stored her go to under wraps, and she promptly started meddling in his affairs.

Actress Kate O’Flynn portrays the character of Izzy, showing across three episodes. Naturally, viewers will immediately recognise Kate, 40, from her standout efficiency as Patricia Moyer in the current smash hit series Widow’s Bay.

Her other credit embody Fiona Lewis in Everyone Else Burns, Princess Mary in My Lady Jane and Alice in Bridget Jones’s Baby — amongst quite a few others.

When the episode initially aired, viewers have been swift to place Kate as Izzy. One viewer commented: “I recognise Izzy from somewhere!”.

Meanwhile another viewer posted: “Where have I seen Izzy before! ? @deathinparadise she looks very familiar #DeathInParadise!”

It seems, however, that there’s little likelihood of Izzy making a comeback on Death in Paradise, owing to her on-screen brother Neville’s departure from the series. Back in 2024, Neville made the choice to depart Saint Marie for good after 4 years, selecting instead to explore the broader world.

Don Gilet has since stepped into the lead position as DI Mervin Wilson. Reflecting on his arrival to the show in 2024, Don said: “Being offered the new lead role in Death in Paradise feels like a deeply loved and incredibly precious jewel has been placed in my hands.

“This is a big show, with a big coronary heart and the love regularly grows for it. It is my intention to never lose sight of that and to stay grateful, humbled and devoted.

“Even during those testing times when every sinew is screaming at me to run off the set and dive into the sea, swimming pool or an ice-cold beer – whichever happens to be closer at the time!”
