Debate Over Flock Surveillance Cameras Takes

Well right here’s some enjoyable Saturday night time nuttery for you.

We’ve written on the continuing debate in this nation about Flock license-plate studying cameras. They’ve been used to thwart mass terror assaults — but they’ve also been used by unscrupulous law enforcement officers to keep an eye on their exes. Creepy.

One factor you may not have anticipated, however, is for Darth Vader to come down from space and weigh in on the matter at a San Diego City Council Public security assembly Wednesday. I’ve to say, the man’s obtained Mr. Vader’s respiratory sounds down completely, and his voice work is fairly strong too:

If whoever was behind the spot was attempting to get consideration, he achieved his purpose, because the clip has been seen thousands and thousands of occasions. 

His little speech was approach on the market, but it will appear he was utilizing the event to mock the town’s 500 Flock cameras put in on streetlights. Several of the oldsters in attendance appeared to wrestle to comprise their laughter.

The council member who announced that it was his flip to communicate didn’t appear to flinch in the slightest when she launched him. “Thank you,” she said to a citizen who had just completed her remarks. “Darth Vader?”

Maybe they’re used to this form of factor on the Left Coast:

The Emperor is a fan of Flock, and we must continue using Flock applied sciences so that we will observe and surveil the Rebel scum as they transfer from playground to playground, from playground to pool, from pool to gymnasium, because we all know that the Flock cameras aren’t only following the license plate readers… They are following youngsters in parks and gymnasiums, and we need this.

Then he got here with the kicker:

Earlier, he had also addressed the assembly about public security. At least that’s what I believe he was speaking about:

“We have given too much money to our libraries, too much money to our parks; we need (San Diego Police) to have more money, more money for the Emperor to rule over the entire universe,” he said.

“We do not need parks. We do not need libraries. We do not need daycare centers. We do not need homeless shelters. All we need is money for our Storm Troopers,” he continued.

“We will not succumb to the forces of Democratic will. No, this council was elected to serve the police, not the public, and if our Storm Troopers don’t receive all the funding that they deserve, there will be hell to pay with the Emperor, and he is not as forgiving as I,” he completed, before sitting down and awaiting his second time at the microphone.

Okayyyy then. I’m not a hundred p.c sure what his message is, but it seems like he thinks an excessive amount of money goes to law enforcement at the expense of other metropolis providers. As someone who lives in California, I can let you know that I discover the man entertaining but don’t essentially agree with him on that level, if that was certainly his message. You can’t even go to some of the libraries around right here because they’re surrounded by homeless people and drug addicts.

One factor about metropolis council conferences, though, is that they’re usually identified for being mind-numbingly boring. If nothing else, this man made the proceedings that a lot more entertaining.
