“There’s nobody here today that thinks this country is perfect,” he added. “But I don’t think there’s anybody today who believes we should give up on this pursuit of perfection.”

He additional added that, “I believe I am very well equipped and healthy enough to move into the next term, trying to do the things that are necessary” in that pursuit of perfection.” When it was identified that he could be turning 86 this 12 months, Clyburn commented, If I weren’t up to it, I’d not do it.”
