Emmerdale is poised to ship something but tranquillity this new 12 months, with Kim Tate seemingly positioned at the center of the unfolding chaos – exactly where she thrives.

During last Christmas, Kim was left shattered when her partner, Will Taylor (Dean Andrews), collapsed and died in her lounge amid their bitter feud.

The Dales witnessed another surprising twist as Kim’s step-grandson Joe Tate (Ned Porteous) returned to the Dales unexpectedly after a six-year absence.

Nevertheless, it appears this festive period and the approaching 12 months can be far from cheerful, as turmoil is destined to arrive at her door yet again.

Prior to the Christmas instalment, Kim Tate actress Claire King has revealed what audiences can count on from Home Farm, while hinting at explosive storylines for 2026, according to the Daily Star.

She has also disclosed that difficult instances lie forward for her character and her expensive companion, Lydia Dingle (portrayed by Karen Blick).

Claire revealed: “Kim has rather an action packed Christmas coming up with Lydia and Kim’s friendship tested to the limit.

“Filming Christmas always begins in October, so by the time we end the real one, it has been three months long, so it does drag on a bit. But it may be a blissful time, or it may be a disastrous time, as there’s normally a beginning or a death at this time of 12 months.”

She continued, “It is always beautiful to be concerned in the Christmas episode, because it is normally fairly a dramatic one.

“So it’s always quite good fun to film, because everyone’s kind of in a jolly mood, even though it’s not actually Christmas, it’s October. And there’s always drama at this time of year.”

Nevertheless, the festive period will not be the only real event Kim finds herself embroiled in explosive turmoil, as mayhem persists effectively into the new 12 months.

Claire revealed: “I’m looking forward to a break at Christmas. I think we are all looking forward to it.

“I’ll need a break as there’s more drama in store for Kim, in the New Year, and this may flip her world upside down. It’s all very, very thrilling and very secretive.”

Claire also hinted that Kim requires some toughening up, confirming: “New Year’s resolutions for Kim can be to get a new Holland Cooper wardrobe. That’d be beautiful to get some more using in.

“That would be very nice as well. And for her to trust people less, she’s gone a bit too soft recently.”
