Fans rave over ‘perfect’ new K-Drama – ‘love it so | TV Shows

Netflix has quietly dropped a romantic drama that critics are hailing as the standout hit of the 12 months. The Korean collection Can This Love Be Translated? landed on the platform Friday (January 16), bringing 12 recent episodes to binge-watchers all over the place.

Created by celebrated Ok-drama writing duo Hong Mi-ran and Hong Jung-eun, the restricted collection traces the story of a polyglot translator and an actress as they traverse the globe facet by facet.

Per Netflix’s synopsis, the show “asks Can Love Be Translated? as it follows an unexpected blossoming relationship between a multilingual translator and a global celebrity,” according to the Mirror.

The description continues: “As they travel the world filming a TV show together, their relationship grows, but, as can happen when two people become more entangled (even if they speak a common language), their feelings towards each other can become more difficult to understand.”

Beloved Korean star Kim Seon-ho headlines as seasoned translator Joo Ho-jin, with Go Youn-jung enjoying reverse him as love curiosity Cha Mu-hee. Prior to launch, followers have been already predicting the romance can be “the best drama of 2026”, and those predictions have confirmed correct.

Sharing reactions online, one fan gushed: “Can This Love Be Translated is my perfect kind of drama and slow paced and so ordinary! Love it so much.”

A second viewer agreed: “Can This Love Be Translated is soooo good so far.”

A 3rd viewer exclaimed: “I FINISHED CAN THIS LOVE BE TRANSLATED AND IT TOOK ME EXACTLY 12 HOURS AND I HAVE NOT LEFT MY SEAT.” Yet, not everybody has fallen under the show’s spell.

Entertainment web site Leisure Byte delivered this evaluation: “This Korean limited series is a charming, thematically thoughtful rom-com that explores various human struggles, especially when feelings get lost between languages and hearts.

“However, the collection tends to get misplaced in its own sophisticated emotions sometimes and will get on your nerves.

“Personally, I found the pacing to be taxing, although the sweetness can get to you at times.”
