Fox News guest slammed for defending Trumps | TV Shows
Fox News viewers have torn into one of the community’s company after she tried to defend Donald Trump’s low approval scores.
On December 26’s episode of The Five, Kaylee McGhee White tried to clarify why President Trump is scoring so poorly in current polls, claiming he is just “a victim of his own success.”
Following on from a section titled, “Dems Scramble to Find Their Trump,” Fox News host Charlie Hurt remarked to Kaylee, “Across the aisle, on the Republican side, there is enormous unity around President Trump, and I think we are obviously starting to see real questions about who will pick up the mantle from him after the midterms.”
Kaylee then responded by mentioning how properly Trump is scoring amongst Republicans, telling Charlie, “He’s at 87% approval rating among Republicans according to the latest poll.
“This is an element of what we’re seeing from the Democratic facet of the aisle. It’s a lot of cope over the fact that they do not actually have a imaginative and prescient, they don’t have a next-generation chief who’s gonna step in and take the place, and so we hear a lot about how Trump’s approval scores are cratering and blah, blah, blah.”
However, the guest then tried to explain why Trump might be scoring so badly among non-Republicans, claiming that voters just hold the 79-year-old to a higher standard than other presidents.
Referencing Trump’s recent approval ratings, which in numerous polls have been sitting at around 35 to 40%, Kaylee said, “I imply, yes, they’re down from where they had been earlier in the 12 months. That’s to be anticipated. But I believe in some methods, Trump is a sufferer of his own success, in that voters anticipate a lot from him because they know that he can ship on it.”
Continuing, the 25-year-old claimed, “You look at some of his largest coverage achievements from this past 12 months… These are all points where he’s not just above water with voters; he is overwhelmingly supported by 80% to 90% of Americans on these key points.”
However, viewers were having none of it. One X user commented on a video of Kaylee speaking, writing, “‘Victim of his own success,’ more like a sufferer of his own chaos, with approval cratering to 36-41% because expectations had been delusional from the start. Blah blah blah certainly.”
A second person then added, “Approval down, but still excusing the whole lot? That’s selective notion, not success,” as a third user penned, “DING • DING • DING We have a winner for lamest excuse yet for Donny’s low approval scores.”
“Well, that’s some critical spin. She twisted herself into all varieties of knots to get that bulls— out,” a fourth X person also quipped.
This comes as Donald Trump’s approval ranking dropped to 38% in a current ballot, the bottom it has been since Trump returned to the White House for a second time period in January. Another ballot also put his ranking at 36%, only 2% greater than after January 6, 2021.
