Fox News halted as Donald Trump gives three-word | UK News
Fox News was halted as President Donald Trump gave a three-word verdict on Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor’s arrest as he claimed: “It’s very sad” before also stating that he was “exonerated”. The American chief was on his Air Force One jet when he took questions from reporters.
The news channel cut to a video from the convention as reporter Peter Doocy requested him: “The former Prince Andrew arrested by the police there, associated to one thing with Jeffrey Epstein. Do you suppose people in this nation, at some level, associates of Jeffrey Epstein will wind up in handcuffs?” Trump went on to declare that he was considerably of an “expert” on the matter, as he replied: “Well, you know, I’m the expert in a way, because I’ve been totally exonerated. It’s very nice. I can actually speak about it very nicely. I think it’s a shame. I think it’s very sad. I think it’s so bad for the royal family.”
But viewers had been fuming over Mr Trump’s response. Taking to X/Twitter, one raged: “That wasn’t the question. You made this all about you again! This is insane. Get these people arrested!”
Another echoed: “Trump frames himself as ‘exonerated’ and calls the situation sad and damaging to the royal family, without directly addressing whether Epstein associates in the U.S. will face arrests.”
Someone else questioned: “Why is it bad for the royal family? What about the abused children?” And one more added: “One of the most incredible displays of narcissism you will ever witness. Unbelievable.”
Mr Trump’s remark comes hours after the previous Duke of York was arrested on suspicion of misconduct in public workplace.
The former prince and brother of King Charles left Aylsham police station in Norfolk this night. Thames Valley Police said after Andrew left the station: “On Thursday (19/2) we arrested a man in his sixties from Norfolk on suspicion of misconduct in public office.
“The arrested man has now been launched under investigation. We can also affirm that our searches in Norfolk have now concluded.”
Thames Valley Police added it will not be making any further statements at this time.
Andrew was arrested today following allegations made after the release of millions of pages of files related to paedophile financier Jeffrey Epstein.
The former Duke of York vehemently denies any wrongdoing over his Epstein links.
