Investigative reporter Michael Ruiz pushed back against claims of an “apology” to Nancy Guthrie’s ransom observe.

On June 23, Fox News reporter Ruiz took to social media to clear up misconceptions about the latest ransom observe in the Nancy Guthrie disappearance. Savannah Guthrie‘s mom, Nancy, 84, vanished from her home close to Tucson, Arizona, on February 1. Authorities have acknowledged that evidence of a disturbance at the residence advised an abduction. A ransom observe for the Today Show host’s mom advised she had died, according to new reviews.

The ransom observe that claimed Nancy had died was the second of two communications despatched to her household via news shops. This got here after an FBI agent shared a concept on the identification of the suspect seen on Nancy Guthrie’s doorbell cam footage.

Ruiz pushed back against claims that the ransom observe included an apology, suggesting that the abductors indicated her death was unintended.

In his tweet, he included a assertion launched from GWN founder Harvey Levin, who also pushed back on reviews that the ransome observe contained an apology over her death.

Levin acknowledged, “I wanna talk about Nancy Guthrie and some communications I had with the FBI that I haven’t talked about until now. But I want to start with these reports that this ransom letter that we received kind of apologizes to Savannah Guthrie and her family for the kidnapping, and that Nancy was no longer alive. That was not in the ransom note that we received.”

Ruiz then shared another update, reporting that NBC, the mother or father company of The Today Show, also denied claims of an apology.

He wrote, “NBC is now reporting that the follow-up note DID indicate that Nancy Guthrie had died, but ‘contained no apology or request for payment for the release of her body.'”

Ruiz closed with, “I keep reposting it because someone knows something. 1-800-CALL-FBI.”

The first ransom observe, despatched to the Tucson tv station, demanded hundreds of thousands of bitcoin for Nancy’s protected return. That initial communication included exact particulars about Nancy’s home, such as descriptions of her bed room and the property’s environment.

A follow-up observe, delivered on February 6, indicated Nancy had died following the kidnapping. The second message had similarities to the initial observe, though it didn’t comprise any particular calls for.

The Pima County Sheriff’s Department confirmed the investigation into Nancy’s vanishing stays energetic.

“The Pima County Sheriff’s Department continues to work closely with the FBI as investigators follow up on leads, review information, and pursue the facts surrounding this case,” a spokesperson confirmed.

In response to the ransom calls for, Savannah and her siblings launched a video assertion on social media. The Today show host said, “We received your message, and we understand.

“We beg you now to return our mom to us.”
