GB News got here to an abrupt halt moments before the end of their breakfast show with a breaking news update about the continuing small boats disaster. This week, the Government formally launched its ‘one in, one out’ migration scheme with France, in which two migrants have been returned to Paris. But it seems as though issues are only going to worsen before they get better after Home and Security editor Mark White revealed that 400 migrants are set to cross the English Channel today (September 19).

After 9 days of windy climate stopping crossings, circumstances have improved in a single day, sparking plans for tons of of people to make the harmful journey. They declare at first mild, people smugglers around the Calais and Dunkirk areas pushed a number of small boats out into the Channel.

Mark revealed that the Border Force is bracing for a “significant day of migrant activity” on the coast of Dover. He told viewers: “Our sources are predicting that so far, at least 400 small boat migrants are in the English Channel in the process of trying to reach the UK.

“It seems like most are making good progress, so they’re in all probability probably to attain UK waters. We can verify that two small boats have already reached UK waters within the last 10 minutes and will likely be introduced to Dover.”

It has been a little over a month since the UK and France agreed to a year-long “one in, one out” pilot scheme of exchanging migrants to deter small boat crossings.

Commenting on the removal of two migrants this week in the scheme’s first week, Mark added: “I believe what’s important about this is we have had a week in which you’ve got had a farcical scenario with the federal government desperately making an attempt to get a minute quantity of small boat migrants returned to France.

“And eventually, after struggles through the court system, they finally managed to get two off,” he added.
