“Songs In The Key Of Life,” which debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard charts and gained the Grammy for Album of the Year, spawned the ever present mega hits “Isn’t She Lovely,” “I Wish,” “As,” “Pastime Paradise” and, of course, “Sir Duke.”

As followers possible recall, fairly a few songs from Wonder’s 18th studio album have had second lives via Hip-Hop many years after the file’s release. “I Wish” was sampled closely on Will Smith’s 1999 “Wild Wild West,” 50 Cent used “Village Ghetto Land” for his “Ryder Music” and, most famously, “Pastime Paradise” served as the inspiration for Coolio’s smash “Gangsta’s Paradise.”

Prior to this upcoming outing, Wonder last headlined at MSG in October 2024.

The Post’s Chuck Arnold attended and raved his “‘Songs in the Key of Life’ classics ‘Sir Duke’ and ‘I Wish’…were delivered and received with pure joy.”

“Wonder fittingly ended the show with the two closing tracks from ‘Songs in the Key of Life’: ‘As’ and ‘Another Star.’ Beginning the latter, he sang, ‘For you, there might be another star/But through my eyes, the light of you is all I see.’ But for us, there will never be another star like Stevie.”

Does Stevie Wonder have a new album on the way in which?

According to the Instagram account @StevieWonderLegacy (which isn’t Wonder’s official profile), he does. They wrote:

More than twenty years after “A Time to Love,” Stevie Wonder says a new album is coming in 2027. The title has been circulating for years. “Through the Eyes of Wonder” has surfaced, disappeared, been reshaped, then talked about again. At some level it stopped feeling like a file and began to really feel like a rumor. Now it finally has a horizon.

Part of the pull comes from what is perhaps inside. Early studies counsel unreleased materials from the Songs in the Key of Life period, which complicates the thought of a “new” Stevie Wonder album. This isn’t just a late-career assertion. It’s doubtlessly a splice between eras, between a inventive peak that still defines the style and a current that has principally unfolded off file.

After Characters (1987), the releases thinned out. Not a collapse, more a withdrawal. Fewer albums, longer gaps, a shift away from the studio as the first space of expression. The catalog froze in time while the status stored increasing. That’s what makes this different. Not the likelihood of another hit, not even the thought of a comeback. Just the fact that he’s selecting to add one thing new to a physique of work that has, for a long time, felt full.
