The remains of a Lochbuie, Colo., grandmother who had been missing since 2018 have been found, authorities said.

The Weld County Coroner’s Office said in a news release issued on Wednesday, Oct. 22, that the remains of Terri Ackerman, 56, were discovered on Sept. 10 in the 100 block of Poplar Street in Lochbuie, the Greeley Tribune, ABC affiliate KMGH and Fox affiliate KDVR reported.

The cause and manner of her death have yet to be determined until the completion of an autopsy.

According to the Lochbuie Police Department, Terri was first reported missing on Aug. 24, 2018. She was last seen at her home at 130 Poplar St. in Lochbuie.

Terri’s husband, Delbert Ackerman, recalled to authorities that his wife was still in bed when he left their home that morning. When Delbert returned in the early afternoon, Terri was not present but such personal items as her wallet, cell phone, car and keys were still at the home.

Police noted that Terri had bipolar disorder and depression, for which she was prescribed medication. Authorities added that Terri was upset the previous night and concerned about babysitting her grandkids, according to her family members.

The Lochbuie Police Department’s investigation of the case is still ongoing, KGMH reported.
