HGTV star Nicole Curtis has apologized for utilizing a racial slur during filming, which led to her show being canceled.
The host of Rehab Addict, which has been on the air since 2010, was filmed getting pissed off while standing on a ladder and exclaiming, “Oh, fart (N-word),” before asking whether or not the footage might be deleted.
“What the f–k is that that I just said?” she then said. “Nick, you gotta, you gotta, can you kill that?”Â
“Oh, f–k my life,” Nicole added. After the footage emerged on Wednesday, HGTV pulled the show from its platforms, even though new episodes had been anticipated to air beginning that same day.
Nicole, 49, has apologized for the racial slur, including she was unaware of HGTV’s choice to pull the plug on the show.

She told GWN, “I want to be clear: the word in question is wrong and not part of my vocabulary and never has been, and I apologize to everyone.”
However, she added, “I’m grateful for the 15-year journey we’ve shared. It’s been a meaningful chapter, but my focus isn’t on my career.
“My focus, at this second is rightfully on my relationships, and my group – the people who actually know my character and where my coronary heart is.”
A press release shared by Nicole’s staff with The Detroit News said she feels “deeply saddened by the damage her phrases have prompted.”
“She takes full duty for their affect, regardless of context,” it added, saying that the slur was “a clear slip of the tongue” which came “after 17 hours of bodily demanding work and little or no sleep.”
But the statement said Nicole “understands that intent doesn’t erase affect, and she is actually sorry.”
The controversy began when Radar Online published footage from the set of the home renovation series which shows Nicole using the N-word.
In a assertion despatched to The Hollywood Reporter, HGTV said it was conscious of “an offensive racial remark” made during filming of Rehab Addict.
The network said, “Not only is language like this hurtful and disappointing to our viewers, companions, and workers – it doesn’t align with the values of HGTV.”

HGTV added it has decided to remove the series from all its platforms, while declaring, “We stay devoted to fostering a tradition of respect and inclusion across our content and our office.”
Addressing the controversy on Instagram, Nicole wrote, “There is more to this, but my household comes first and I need to be mother proper now more than the rest.
“I will take the time to be as I’ve always been with you, transparent and honest. GWN called me as I had just turned my phone on after being at school – I said this briefly – but there is more.”
Rehab Addict adopted Nicole as she rescued historic houses in Detroit and Minneapolis from demolition, restoring them to their former magnificence.
The first three seasons ran on DIY Network, before shifting to HGTV in 2014.
