Kid Rock has now weighed in with his ideas about Bad Bunny’s Super Bowl halftime show, after starring in the choice show put out by Turning Point USA, slamming his competitors as a “middle finger to the MAGA crowd.”
Kid Rock, real title Robert Ritchie, was the headline for the choice show, which was dubbed the “All-American Halftime Show,” and after the show failed to draw in enough viewers to severely dent the numbers that Bad Bunny, real title Benito Antonio Martinez Ocasio, introduced in to the official NFL show, has been making the rounds to focus on the 2 differing exhibits.
After other nation music stars also spoke out about the Turning Point show, criticizing his efficiency, Kid Rock made another look, this time on Fox News’s Ingraham Angle.
Speaking to host Laura Ingraham on the Monday, February 9 episode that aired sooner or later after the Super Bowl, the singer shared his ideas about the NFL’s resolution to give the gig to Bad Bunny.
As he shared his ideas, he said the show was a large middle finger to MAGA soccer followers.

Sharing that he thought the issues went back to 2016 when Colin Kaepernick famously took a knee during the National Anthem as a protest against police brutality, he felt that NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell determined to use a “DEI hire” to help make money for the league, which was dominated by black athletes.
“Roger Goodell had a real problem on his hands back then and I think he thought ‘How do I get out of this?’ And keep making the tens of millions of dollars that I make in a predominantly male Black league, so I think he goes, well, ‘Maybe Jay-Z’ll do it,’” he said.
“But nothing against Jay-Z, I respect him for his hustle and his music but it seems like there’s a bit of a DEI hire there to go like ‘oh, you know Black guys love Jay-Z,’” he continued.
Adding he wasn’t “that ignorant” to consider that only Black males liked Jay-Z, he said he felt that the rap celebrity was largely catering to his own fanbase when he selected artists for the halftime show, which was the “middle finger” to Kid Rock and his followers.

“So he brings in Jay Z and what’s Jay Z going to do, he’s going to do right by his base, that’s why he had Kendrick Lamar last year, which a lot of people didn’t get, I respect Kendrick, but it wasn’t my cup of tea,” he said.
“And then this year it’s like wow, they’re going to double down and to me, it was another middle finger to conservatives, to the MAGA crowd, to my base.”
Jay Z and Roc Nation have been the manufacturing companions along with the NFL on the halftime show since 2019, producing the last six exhibits.
The first show in 2020 featured Jennifer Lopez, who like Bad Bunny is of Puerto Rican heritage, who co-headlined with Colombian native Shakira.
