A columnist has shared her perspective on David Beckham, having met him briefly in the past. On Monday night, the previous footballer and his partner Victoria Beckham hit the headlines after their son, Brooklyn Beckham, launched a bombshell assertion.

After months of rumours about a household rift, their eldest baby made quite a few allegations against them, accusing them of being controlling and of disrespecting his spouse, Nicola Peltz Beckham.

Within the six-page assertion, the 26-year-old also typed: “My family values public promotion and endorsements above all else. Brand Beckham comes first.

“Family ‘love’ is set by how a lot you post on social media, or how rapidly you drop every thing to show up and pose for a household photograph op even if it is at the expense of our skilled obligations.”

According to The Daily Mail’s Sarah Vine, this contrasted sharply with her expertise of David when their sons performed soccer together.

She penned: “Our boys – their third baby, Cruz, and my youngest, Will – performed in the same soccer staff together.

“They were worlds apart in terms of ability, of course, but nonetheless, for a brief period they shared a pitch.”

Remembering David’s behaviour, she claimed that despite his movie star standing, he appeared genuine and utterly dedicated, never hesitating to become involved.

“Apart from the fact that he was gigantically famous and stupidly good-looking, David was a perfectly ordinary touchline dad,” she wrote.

“He would stand there in the pouring rain with his hands thrust deep into his pockets, his hat clamped over his ears, yelling the usual words of encouragement.

“Every now and again a member of the public would strategy for a selfie and an autograph, and he would oblige, holding one eye on the pitch,” she added.

Sarah said she couldn’t determine whether David’s behaviour was “performative,” as claimed by Brooklyn, but considered it “completely real” at the time.

“Certainly, David’s relationship with his son Cruz appeared very far from ‘inauthentic’. He was, if something, extraordinarily current. And he was also very sort to the other children, too,” she continued.

David and Victoria, who share four children altogether, have remained silent on the matter and declined to address requests for comment.

The former England captain also dismissed reporters at an event on Tuesday when questioned about his son’s allegations.

Meanwhile, Brooklyn has resurfaced on Instagram with an updated profile photograph displaying his neck tattoo of Nicola’s eyes.

This follows his staunch defence of his spouse in the statement, proclaiming that they will pursue a life not “formed by image, press, or manipulation”.

He added: “All we wish peace, privateness and happiness for us and our future household.”
