President Donald Trump’s residence, Mar-a-Lago in Palm Beach, Florida, has 126 rooms and a number of swimming pools, but what is more generally missed is the three bomb shelters.

The bunkers had been constructed during the Korean War during the Fifties, when businesswoman and socialite Marjorie Merriweather Post owned the property before Trump.

Alongside Trump’s Mar-a-Lago bomb shelters, construction for a “massive complex” under White House ballroom was revealed on Monday. The president shared a design plan that the East Wing is being changed with a $400 million ballroom and that the army is building a “complex” under the ballroom.

“The military is building a big complex under the ballroom, which has come out recently because of a stupid lawsuit that was filed,” Trump said. “We have all bullet-proof glass, we’ve drone-proof roofs, ceilings.” The president added that the windows are also bulletproof.

It is not confirmed by the White House whether the “big complex” is a bunker. The president told the press that “unfortunately, we’re living in an age when that’s a good thing,” referring to the construction of the complex under the ballroom.

The president said the project is being funded by him and donors. Those donating include Meta, T-Mobile, Apple, Amazon, Google, Microsoft, and Comcast Corporation. Individual donations have come from figures such as David Baszucki, the CEO of gaming platform Roblox.

“Not one dime of government money is going into the ballroom,” Trump said. He shared that along with Mar-a-Lago, Trump International Golf Club, and the president’s estate in upstate New York have bunkers too.

The Tampa Bay Times noted that Mar-a-Lago’s bunkers were not used for their primary purpose. The president’s former butler, Anthony Senecal, said one of his offices was located there, while the other shelters had a bakery and banquet storage.

In 2007, for Esquire, the president said he prefers the Mar-a-Lago shelter over the others.

“It gave us excellent elevation, and now, when members tee off on the second hole, they’re teeing off from the top of a bomb shelter,” Trump said.

Trump acquired the Mar-a-Lago in 1985 and used it as its residence. The property turned into an exclusive membership for members to use, such as the spa or wedding ceremony venues, according to the web site. The property is also a landmark half of the National Register of Historic Places.

The president has also hosted conferences with world leaders at Mar-a-Lago, including NATO Secretary-General Mark Rutte or Chinese President Xi Jinping.
