Karoline Leavitt seemingly revealed the attainable reason behind Trump’s verbal assault on Colombian President Gustavo Petro during a Thursday afternoon press briefing.
“Colombia responded to that statement by issuing a formal invitation to President Trump to go to Colombia and to see firsthand how the authorities in Colombia are fighting against drugs,” one reporter started. “Do you think that President Trump will consider that?”

“Well, that’s very interesting. I hadn’t heard the news about that invitation,” Leavitt said. “I will let the president speak directly to it on whether or not that’s something he would entertain.”

Now, it appears the president has modified his thoughts relating to the chief. “Colombia is producing a lot of drugs,” Trump told reporters. It comes amid fears Trump has sparked “beginning of war” after an “act of piracy.”
“So he better wise up or he’ll be next. He’ll be next soon,” he added. “I hope he’s listening; he’s going to be next.”
The feedback from the president mark a major escalation of Trump’s threats against the Colombian chief. During a dialog with Politico this week, Trump teased that he deliberate on increasing his anti-drug trafficking operation to both Mexico and Colombia.
