Jake Paul makes Tyson Fury claim before Anthony | Boxing News

Jake Paul has claimed that he’ll knock Anthony Joshua out and battle Tyson Fury next 12 months. The YouTube sensation-turned-pugilist is set to face off with two-time heavyweight world champion Joshua in Miami, Florida, come December 19 in a bout which can be streamed worldwide on Netflix.

And while it is clear that the 28-year-old is not overlooking his current opponent, he has also revealed his plans for future bouts. Speaking with Ariel Helwani during a press convention on Friday night, Paul was requested if he has plans on ruining Joshua’s future endeavours with Matchroom Boxing. He replied: “Yeah, 100%. It’s a massive mistake to look past this, seriously.

“I’m placing a stint in all of those plans. Don’t ebook something, do not organize flights and motels. I’m knocking this man out, changing into the CEO of Matchroom Boxing and altering the plans. Then it is going to be me vs Tyson Fury next 12 months.”

When requested if he feels disrespected by Joshua’s future plans and Eddie Hearn’s feedback about the battle in specific, Paul added: “Yeah, look at the last time they got here to America and what the plans that they had have been. Andy Ruiz stopped that, so this is Andy Ruiz 2.0.”

When asked about how he looks at his own future plans, Joshua added: “Yeah, if I’m going to be trustworthy, I’m going to break his face, I’m going to break his physique up, I’m going to stomp all over him. That’s my mentality, proper? That’s a fighter’s mentality.

“And I know what’s in my heart, I know what’s in my mind, and I’m here to compete. I’m here to prove myself, that I’m the better fighter. So I’m looking forward to it and I’ll do that until I’m finished fighting, no matter who it is.”

When requested about who the opponents are who are probably lined up for him in 2026, Joshua held his playing cards close to his chest, as he replied: “My focus is on Jake Paul,”  before including: “They’re not signed, they’re not sealed, but they’re opportunities, really. They’re just opportunities in the game, but my main focus that’s signed and sealed is Jake Paul. So that’s all I want in front of me.”

It’s not the first time that Paul has been concerned with the Fury household. Back in February 2023, the 28-year-old was handed the first loss of his skilled boxing profession by Tommy Fury, with the Englishman securing a split-decision win after eight hard-fought rounds.

While there have been talks of a rematch between the 2 happening, it seems as though Paul now has his coronary heart set on dealing with two-time world heavyweight champion Tyson. However, the issue in a battle ever coming to fruition is that Fury announced his retirement from the world of boxing earlier this 12 months, following consecutive losses at the palms of undefeated Ukrainian, Oleksandr Usyk.

Taking to social media in January to break the news, Fury said: “Hi everybody, I’m going to make this short and sweet. I’d like to announce my retirement from boxing, it’s been a blast.

“I’ve beloved every single minute of it. I’m going to end with this, Dick Turpin wore a masks. God bless all people, see you on the other aspect.”
