Kid Rock has just announced he’s embarking on a ten-date spring tour to mark the 250th anniversary of the United States.
In a new update on social media, Kid Rock declared that his tour is “using Ticketmaster’s Face Value Exchange to keep tickets in the hands of real fans – not scalpers.”
He revealed a strict set of guidelines which suggests tickets can only be resold for the unique price paid, including charges and taxes, with no markups allowed.
Rock said if a fan who bought a ticket can no longer attend the show, they’ll resell it – but only on Ticketmaster, which does not charge any charges to resell or buy resold tickets.
His set of guidelines also says that in order to stop tickets from being bought on other websites for revenue, switch is turned off in most locations.
He also added, “If you buy on any other site, there is no guarantee you’ll get in the door – and most likely you won’t.”
Rock, however, identified that some states, like Illinois, do not permit artists like him to limit sale, which means ticket switch has to keep on, even though Ticketmaster will still keep costs at face worth on its web site.
He added, “This isn’t perfect, but it’s a real step to shut down scalpers and protect fans.
“No additional value to followers – same tickets, same costs, just fairer access.
“Bottom line: buy tickets, go to the show, and if plans change, sell them the right way so another fan gets in.”
The Live Nation-promoted tour will kick off in Dallas, Texas, on May 1, with dates scheduled in Raleigh, North Carolina, Charlotte, North Carolina, St. Louis, Missouri, Tinley Park, Illinois, Tampa, Florida, Holmdel, New Jersey, Mansfield, Massachusetts, and Noblesville, Indiana, throughout May and June.
The remaining date shall be in Burgettstown, Pennsylvania, on June 20. The artists supporting Rock on some of the dates are Brantley Gilbert, Parker McCollum, Jon Pardi, Big & Rich and Them Dirty Roses.
After his announcement, which got here days after Rock’s efficiency at Turning Point USA’s various Super Bowl efficiency, a fan praised Rock, saying on Instagram, “Sounds like a great step in the right direction!”
