Man Shot and eliminateed in Dallas Law Enforcement

CBS News Texas has uncovered that a man identified as Mike King, who was entrusted to coordinate security for Democrat Rep. Jasmine Crockett (TX-30), was shot useless late Wednesday evening while making an attempt to flee from police.  

Images obtained by CBS News Texas show King standing close to Crockett at occasions and on the marketing campaign path during her current run for a U.S. Senate seat. Sources say he oversaw groups of security officers at a number of downtown Dallas resorts and at his church.

Documents obtained by CBS News Texas show a particular person named Mike King acquired funds for “security services” from Crockett as not too long ago as last 12 months.

Multiple law enforcement sources inform CBS News Texas the person, identified publicly as Mike King, had been utilizing aliases while operating a business that positioned officers in off‑responsibility jobs.

Sources say he was needed for impersonating a law enforcement officer and had claimed to be one while working Off Duty Police Services, an online platform connecting North Texas officers with off‑responsibility work. Authorities haven’t launched his real identify.

Law enforcement sources also say King drove a duplicate undercover police vehicle and used license plates stolen from vehicles outdoors a navy recruiting workplace. His background – which sources say consists of a prison historical past – raises questions about how he managed additional‑responsibility jobs for police officers and secured a high‑degree security position for a sitting member of Congress.

There are many potential crimes listed right here, on top of impersonating law enforcement. With all the aliases, there was also the likelihood of identification theft and working fraudulent companies being added. Had King not been shot and killed by Dallas SWAT, he might have been going through some severe prison time. 

During Crockett’s U.S. Senate marketing campaign, where she sought to unseat Republican Sen. John Cornyn, Crockett’s security turned an issue. Crockett was criticized for allegedly telling her security element to take away an Atlantic reporter from a rally.

Rep. Jasmine Crockett, D-Texas, is going through criticism online after she reportedly had armed security guards take away The Atlantic workers author Elaine Godfrey from her Senate marketing campaign rally on Monday.

Godfrey reported that she was “thrown out” of Crockett’s rally after being labeled a “top-notch hater” by Crockett’s staff.

“Right before armed guards escorted me from the rally and left me on the edge of a Texas-county road, I was informed that I was no longer welcome at an event that I had already attended,” Godfrey wrote on Thursday.

Crockett denied this had occurred, which only drew more consideration to the matter.

In another incident, Crockett’s security had also been accused of assaulting a conservative journalist. There are no confirmed stories that the King was linked to the alleged assault.

Crockett misplaced her Senate bid to Democrat state Senator James Tallarico in the March 4 Texas major. Tallarico will face either TX Attorney General Ken Paxton or Sen. Cornyn. Both Republicans failed to meet the 50 plus 1 % vote threshold in the first. Their destiny can be determined in the May 26, 2026, runoff election.
