NCIS ‘predicted’ Pauley Perrette and Mark Harmon’s | TV Shows
When her concerns were dismissed, she decided to leave the show. Interestingly, an episode from season five titled “Dog Tags” seems to mirror this off-screen drama.
In the episode, Abby’s character defends a dog suspected of killing a Navy officer, even risking her career to do so. This storyline bears a striking resemblance to Perrette’s real-life exit a decade later, suggesting that the writers may have drawn inspiration from the actual feud.
As Johnson told The Hollywood Reporter: “The dog was Mark Harmon’s, and apparently, the dog bit someone,” reports the Mirror US.Â
“Pauley was a huge, huge, SPCA [the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals] animal person,” he said.Â
He continued: “And then the dog kept coming with Harmon, and she felt it wasn’t safe for the show. By the end of that year, she just felt like it wasn’t working for her anymore and it was time to move on.”
In 2019, Pauley announced on X, formerly known as Twitter, her definitive departure from the show, citing fears of Mark Harmon: “NO I AM NOT COMING BACK! EVER! (Please stop asking? )” she declared.
“I am terrified of Harmon and him attacking me. I have nightmares about it,” she added, “I have a new show that is SAFE AND HAPPY! You’ll love it!”
